Michael Raymond Butler
PRCSI (2002-2004)
Mr Michael R. Butler graduated from UCD (1965) and commenced his postgraduate training at the Mater Hospital, Dublin, Meath Hospital, University of Pennsylvania and Pen Hospital, Philadelphia. He was a front rank surgeon with an interest in general urology and reconstructive surgery, particularly in urethral reconstruction, a technically demanding area. He held consultant posts at the Meath Hospital, St James’s Hospital, St Anne’s Hospital and the Nation Rehabilitation Centre (1974-2004).
Mr Butler served as an RCSI Council member for 20 years and chaired several important committees before becoming President of RCSI.
