Inaugural meeting of RCSI UK Chapter of Fellows
The UK Chapter of Fellows of RCSI held its inaugural meeting in Edinburgh this evening.
Held in conjunction with the 2006 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI) the Chapter Meeting was attended by surgeons from all over Ireland and the UK. It was presided over by its Chairman, RCSI Council Member, Mr Joe Duignan. The President of the RCSI Professor Niall O'Higgins was also in attendance.
The newly formed UK Chapter joins a number of others, which have been formed, around the world including those in North America and the Middle East. The purpose of Chapter meetings is to promote and foster relationships between the College and its Fellows and Members worldwide. These meetings provide social and professional networking opportunities as well as an opportunity to strengthen ties with the RCSI.
