Professor Brian Harvey, Director of Research at RCSI, has been honoured with the award of Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite, or Knight of the Order of Merit, by the President of France Jacques Chirac.

The award is given in recognition of Professor Harvey's work in promoting scientific collaboration between France and Ireland over the past 25 years.

The date of the investiture ceremony will be decided in consultation with the French embassy in Ireland.
