School children from the south inner Dublin city area visited RCSI today as part of the RCSI Outreach programme.

The programme aims to make science accessible to all and allow the general public and the local community to briefly experience the life of a scientist.

The children were shown around a laboratory where they were introduced to various experiments by Dr Marc Devocelle, lecturer in pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry; David Kennedy, postgraduate student; Celine Petit, Research Assistant; and Stephane Desgranges and Ms Laure de Herce, postgraduate students.

The children are part of the South Area Youth Service (SAYS) After School Programme, which the College hosts on a regular basis.
