RCSI today held its 24th annual Open Day for Leaving Certificate and A-Level students.

Approximately 400 secondary school students from across the country visited the College today to learn more about its Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy.

Along with practical information on how to make their college choice, potential students were also given the opportunity to hear about life in RCSI from past and present students as well as how to get the most from their college years.

They were also given an opportunity to visit workshops hosted by the various faculties and staff members were on hand to answer any questions. RCSI Open Day is one of the highlights of the College’s annual calendar and continues to attract an increasing number of students. This year students interested in pursuing careers in medicine, pharmacy or physiotherapy came from as far afield as Donegal, Galway, Cork and Kerry.

Mr Philip Curtis, Associate Director and Admissions Officer, RCSI, said: “This day gives students a great insight into what studying at RCSI is like, both from an academic and social point of view. We are facilitating young men and women with the important decision making process on what to study once they leave school, which can be a difficult choice particularly at such a relatively young age.”
