Professor Michael C. Berndt gives inaugural lecture

Internationally renowned Professor Michael C. Berndt gave the inaugural Walton lecture in RCSI today.

Professor Michael C. Berndt delivered the lecture on 'Molecular Mechanisms of Platelet Adhesion in Thrombosis' and is the first Walton visitor to RCSI.

Professor Berndt is currently a NH&MRC Senior Principal Research Fellow, a Professorial Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Monash University and Deputy Dean Research for the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. He also holds an Associate Professorial appointment at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston (USA).

The ETS Walton Visitors Award was established by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) to honour and perpetuate the legacy of Ireland's 1951 Nobel laureate in physics by bringing international researchers from academia and industry to Ireland.
