Kirwan Pathak room

The School of Pharmacy at RCSI unveiled a plaque today, dedicating its main teaching room in honour of Kiran Pathak.

Kiran, who was a well-known Dublin pharmacist, lived in Dartry in Dublin with his wife Marguerite and their two children. In 2001, the family was on vacation in Kenya and while fishing off the coast, tragedy struck and all four family members perished.

Paddy Digan MPSI, Chairman of the RCSI Pharmacy Taskforce, established the Kiran Pathak Fund with the objective of developing a scholarship programme for students who, because of social and economic disadvantage, would like to study pharmacy but would ordinarily not be in a position to do so. This fund, now standing at over €600,000 will provide tuition fees for these deserving students.
