Mary Harney meets GEP students

The Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney, today met with students and teaching staff of RCSI’s Graduate Entry Programme (GEP).

The visit took place at the RCSI campus in Reservoir House, Sandyford.

The cohort of students, who come from Ireland, the EU, North America, Australia and the Middle East, have varying academic backgrounds. They have undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in subjects from English literature to law.

Professor Alan Johnson, Director of GEP, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to host the Minister here today. The introduction of the graduate entry programme represents a new era for medical education in Ireland. The programme has been progressing very well and we have been receiving positive feedback from all those involved. This has been mainly made possible through RCSI's use of state of the art technology and innovative academic and clinical teaching.”
