Professor John Sweeney, recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, today delivered the Hennessy Lecture at RCSI.

The lecture on ‘Climate Change: Fact, Fiction, Our Future?’ was hosted by the Department of Molecular and Cellular Therapeutics (MCT) at RCSI.

Professor Sweeney leads a research programme into the impact of climate change, including the production of climate scenarios for Ireland for mid-and-end century. As one of the contributing authors and review editors of the recently published Fourth Assessment Report of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), he shared with fellow climatologists the 2007 Nobel Prize.
