RCSI and RCPI Biological Society hold 76th annual meeting
Minister for Equality, Disability and Mental Health, Mr John Moloney was welcomed at the 76th Biological Society meeting at RCSI. Minister Moloney spoke on mental health at the event.
The proceedings were opened by the President of the Society Professor Noel G. McElvaney, followed by the presentation of medals. Among the recipients at this year's meeting were Oystein Sordal, winner of the RCSI Council Medal; Janso Padickakudi, winner of the RCPI Council Medal; Mark Willcox, winner of the Leonard Abrahamson Medal and Wei-Lyn Chung, winner of the Association of Graduates Medal.
Other guest speakers of the evening included medical students Laura Davis and Brian Drake, who delivered a speech entitled 'Mobility Programme: The Bahrain Experience'.
Among those who attended the event were RCSI Vice-President, Ms Eilis McGovern; Professor Cathal Kelly, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences; Professor Kieran Murphy, RCSI Head of Psychiatry and President of the Irish Medical Council; and Professor Noel G. McElvaney, President of the Biological Society.
