RCSI takes part in PRTLI celebrations
Members from RCSI presented one of their projects at the PRTLI 10-year celebrations today in the Science Gallery in Trinity College Dublin (TCD).
Minister for Education, Batt O’Keeffe opened the five-day event, which was open to members of the public.
The project ‘Live Cell Imaging and Analysis’ is a collaborative project run by NUIM, RCSI and UCC as part of the National Biophotonics and Imaging Platform (NBIP).
The project enabled visitors to interact with a computer based demonstrator which analysed in real-time previously collected images of fluorescently labelled, living cancer cells. An interactive demonstrator also illustrated the construction and execution of systems biology experiments. The public were then able to select images, apply some models and visualise the results.
