The Office for Medical Education and the Institute of Leadership and Healthcare Management hosted a seminar by Professor Peter Spurgeon, Director of the Institute for Clinical Leadership, Warwick University, UK.
Professor Spurgeon delivered a talk on ‘Medical Leadership: A Competency Framework for Medical School and Beyond’ in the Albert Lecture Theatre.
Professor Spurgeon worked in a number of universities and other sectors before joining the Institute for Clinical Leadership.
A publisher of many texts, his main areas of interest include assessing managerial potential and performance; organisational development and the management of change; clinicians in management, organisational culture and risk management; evidence-based management, patient safety; clinical governance implementation.
