President and Faculty Members of Yarmouk University visit RCSI
The President of Yarmouk University, Jordan, Professor Sultan Abu-Orabi, visited the RCSI today to meet with faculty from the RCSI Institute of Leadership & Healthcare Management.
In 2003 a partnership between YarmoukUniversity and the RCSI was established to deliver a Masters in Health Services Management. This programme has been successful and graduates have benefitted from their masters education in terms of their career development. Among the highlights of the programme was the attendance of Her Royal Highness, Princess Mona of Jordan, at this year’s graduation.
Professor Ciaran O'Boyle, Head of the Institute, said: “We are delighted to welcome the President of Yarmouk University to RCSI, we value our relationship and look forward to future collaboration in the area healthcare education.”
Professor Abu-Orabi expressed his gratitude to the RCSI for their help and cooperation implementing the programme with Yarmouk University. He said: “We are looking forward to building on our current progress and starting new initiatives between the two institutions.”
Ms Tina Joyce, Programme Director and Director of Operations, said: “It is always a pleasure working with the faculty and students in Yarmouk. Their commitment to education and to the development of health services in Jordan is exemplary.”
Yarmouk University is the second largest university in Jordan with a total of 33,000 students and 12 colleges. Professor Abu-Orabi was accompanied by Dr Ezzat Hijab (Dean, Mass Communications), Dr Faruq Al-Omani (Dean, Engineering Technology) and Dr Azzam Elananza (Mass Communications).
