RCSI students awarded for academic achievements at NUI Awards ceremony

The National University of Ireland today celebrated the academic achievements of its graduates and students at its annual awards ceremony held in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

This year, the following students and graduates at RCSI were awarded in the Dr H. H. Stewart Medical Scholarships 2009 category - Daniel Joyce, who received a scholarship in Gynaecology and Obstetrics; Limy Wong, who received a Scholarship in Medicine and a Commendation in Surgery; David Lynch, who was awarded 2nd place in Psychiatry and Kevin O’Connor, who was awarded 2nd prize in Physiotherapy.

The National University of Ireland provides a range of awards annually to students, graduates and staff of the NUI constituent universities and recognised colleges and administers the competitions for the selection of award winners.

The value of these awards in 2009 will be of the order of € .68 million. Approximately one hundred students and graduates of UCD, UCC, NUI Galway, NUI Maynooth, RCSI and NCAD received awards at the ceremony.
