Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery postgraduate student wins Abbott Research Poster award
Rabekah Prabakaran, an RCSI Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery postgraduate student and Neonatal Nurse from the National Maternity Hospital, won the Abbott National Nursing Research Poster award for her project on 'Is Noise an issue in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit?' at a conference held on 28 January in Croke Park.
Rabekah Prabakaran’s project is part of her masters in neonatal nursing, which she is carrying out under the guidance of Professor Seamus Cowman at RCSI.
This study aims to discover how to decrease the overall noise level in neonatal intensive care units and to develop unit specific guidelines and policies in controlling noise levels in such units.
