President of Ireland Mary McAleese attends annual Charter Day
President of Ireland Mary McAleese attended the annual RCSI Charter Day dinner on Saturday, 20 February 2010 and unveiled a plaque to commemorate the 200th anniversary of RCSI on St Stephen’s Green.
Over 350 guests attended the Charter Day dinner, which is held annually as a culmination to three days of surgical meetings in the College.
This year over 200 surgeons attended to hear presentations from over 80 leading national and international speakers and to discuss topics relevant to surgery and surgical training.
The RCSI Charter Day Meetings are held annually to commemorate the 11th February 1784, when RCSI was first established by Royal Charter by King George III.
