Graduate wins award for nurse facilitated patient discharge study
Liz Touhy, MSc Leadership and Management Development Graduate 2011, received the award for 'Best First Oral Presenter' for her presentation entitled 'Why Should Patients Be Delayed? at the 31st Annual International Nursing and Midwifery Conference which took place in RCSI from 22-23 February 2012.
Liz's presentation summarised the findings of her organisational development project on Registered Nurse Facilitated Discharge from Day Care Facilities at St Vincent's University Hospital.
Professor Ciarán O' Boyle, Director of the Institute and Dr Pauline Joyce, Director of Academic Affairs, commented: "We are delighted for Liz, it is a great achievement and very well deserved, the project and presentation focused on an organisational improvement, making a measurable difference for patients and staff."
