'Please Talk' remembrance event
During the week of 12 November, a remembrance event was held in the various universities and colleges throughout Ireland to remember all those who died by suicide.
RCSI marked this event by keeping a minute's silence during the weekly Friendship Lunches hosted by the Pastoral Care/Chaplaincy Team and the Friendship Society. These are held both in the College and in Beaumont.
The students were reminded of the importance of reaching out and being a friend to others. Sarah Dinneen from the SU highlighted the motto of the Please Talk Campaign "Talking is a sign of strength not weakness" No concern is too trivial and there is always someone there to listen.
RCSI is part of the ‘Please Talk' initiative, which is one of many activities reaching out to lend encouragement and support.
