A team of RCSI students has won the Jack Flanagan Medal on Wednesday, 18 September.

The Jack Flanagan Medal in Gerontology competition pays trubute to Ireland's eminent geriatrician, Dr. Jack Flanagan, who was one of the first doctors in Ireland to specialise in contemporary geriatric medicine.

Tonight (19 September 2013), before an audience of geriatric consultants, geriatricians, peers, and members of Dr Flanagan's family, the RCSI team was declared winner of the prestigious medals and bursary. The team faced strong competition from Trinity College, University College Dublin, University of Limerick, National University of Ireland Galway and University College Cork.
