Open House at RCSI for architecture festival
RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) will open to the public and architecture enthusiasts as part of the Open House Dublin (OHD) 2013 festival this Sunday, 6 October. Three tours will run on the hour from 12pm-3pm on the day.
The tours will be guided by Georgina Garrigan, an architecture expert, and Frank Donegan, Head Porter of RCSI. Therefore guests can experience the exquisite architecture that makes up the rooms and halls of RCSI, while learning the role the College played in shaping both local and national history.
The tours will depart from the York Street entrance at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. To register for the Open House at RCSI, visit www.rcsi.ie/openhouse. Registration is essential and capacity is limited so spaces will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
Open House Dublin 2013 is run by the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) and will run from 4-6 October. The OHD programme offers members of the public the chance to explore several buildings in the capital over the course of the weekend, each one offering a unique insight into Dublin's architectural story. Copies of the OHD programme are available from the General Post Office (GPO, O'Connell Street), City Hall (Dame Street) or by contacting the Communications Department.
