Ballroom of Romance 2015

More than 350 senior citizens visited RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) on Thursday, 9 July for a night of entertainment, singing and dancing at the Ballroom of Romance.

This is the fifth year that RCSI hosted this annual event for senior citizens living in the catchment area of the College. The event was organised by Maria Kelly, REACH (Recreation, Education and Community Health) RCSI Programme Manager, in partnership with Dublin City Council South East Area Community Development team. Local Community Gardaí, Aidan Monahan and Wayne Carey also volunteered their time for the event.

Entertainment on the night was provided by the ever-popular Garda Band and the MC, Gary Meade, got the guests in to mood for dancing by singing some light swing jazz at the beginning.

REACH RCSI works in partnership with primary and post primary schools, youth and community groups together with the local community on the design and delivery of educational initiatives including grinds clubs, science workshops, sports and health programmes and an education information service.
