On Thursday, 28 January the School of Postgraduate Studies hosted the inaugural Postgraduate Open Day. The event was attended by more than 100 participants interested in learning more about postgraduate opportunities, services and facilities in RCSI.

At the event the new Strategic Academic Recruitment (StAR) PhD Programme was launched. The PhD Scholars Programme is a four-year structured PhD training programme that aims to encourage scientists to develop innovative research projects in the field of the Health Sciences. 

The PhD projects will be allied with the RCSI research strategy and the aim of the programme is to attract high-achieving students to an attractive and efficient PhD programme and to increase the numbers of PhD students who choose to study at RCSI.

The StAR PhD Programme is part of a larger €50 million Strategic Academic Recruitment programme that was announced by the College in 2015.
