Kevin O'Sullivan, Editor of The Irish Times, is the guest speaker at tonight's RCSI Institute of Leadership Lecture Series: ‘Lessons in Leadership'. The lecture will be delivered to more than 100 health professionals at 6pm in the Albert Lecture Theatre, RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland), 123 St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2.

Kevin's talk will focus on leadership in an age of digital disruption. Digital disruption is transforming how we all work and is a challenge which faces all organisations. His lecture will explore the best leadership approach in this scenario of constant change. Although different technologies may apply to media and healthcare organisations, there are similar strategies that can be applied to both sectors when faced with digital disruption.

Dermot O'Flynn, Director of Professional Development and Corporate Training at the RCSI Institute of Leadership, said: "We are delighted to welcome one of Ireland's most influential journalists - Kevin O'Sullivan to deliver this evening's 'Lessons in Leadership' lecture. As editor of one of Ireland's leading media organisations, Kevin has led the Irish Times through a period of enormous change in the media landscape of Ireland, successfully evolving the title into new digital formats relevant to the age of online and social media. We look forward to hearing his insights into the importance of strong leadership during times of technological change, which is highly relevant to those who work in a healthcare setting."

Kevin was appointed Editor of The Irish Times in June 2011. He previously held the roles of News Editor and Night Editor. He was Founding Editor of the Healthplus supplement from 2004-2005. Previous roles at The Irish Times included Acting Foreign Editor, Acting Northern Editor, Special Projects Editor - Assistant Editor, Deputy/Assistant News Editor and Environmental & Food Science Correspondent. Prior to joining the Irish Times he was a Senior Journalist Connacht Tribune Newspaper Group, a Reporter with the Tuam Herald, a Freelance journalist and founder of Copywrite News Agency.
