RCSI has been ranked in the 131-140 category of Top 200 European Universities by the Times Higher Education World (THE) University Rankings.

The Top 200 European Universities is a subset of the THE World University Rankings released in September 2015 and is based on the same dataset of 13 performance indicators, but limited to European Universities only.

Overall 22 countries are represented in the top 200 list, which draws upon data from the 800 universities from 70 countries in the overall THE World University Rankings.

Professor Cathal Kelly, RCSI Chief Executive said: “We are very pleased to be ranked in top 200 universities in Europe. Our strong performance is an affirmation of RCSI’s investment in the expansion of our educational and research activities and is also testament to the strong commitment to excellence by our faculty, staff and students.”

Phil Baty, Editor, THE World University Rankings, said: “The new Times Higher Education European University Ranking is based on the same rigorous and exacting group of 13 performance indicators used to compile the overall Times Higher Education World University Rankings, so it is a great achievement to make this new, prestigious top 200 list.

All universities in the ranking have had to demonstrate excellence across a range of measures, covering the teaching environment, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook, and stand out from the thousands of universities across Europe that did not make the cut,” Baty continued.
