RCSI School of Nursing and Midwifery welcomes Saudi delegation

RCSI's School of Nursing and Midwifery welcomed a delegation from the King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to RCSI recently. KAMC is a large healthcare facility based in the Western Province of KSA.

The hospital provides care to patients in the western region of the KSA and also to a transient population of 4 million pilgrims per year who come to visit the holy city of Mecca. KAMC has a full range of clinical departments with particular specialities in oncology, neuroscience, cardiology and burns. 

During the visit by the KAMC Professor Hannah Magee, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, RCSI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of RCSI with regard to the provision of post graduate education to their 1,000 strong nursing workforce.

The School will be providing MSc and Postgraduate Diploma programmes in area such as wound care and tissue viability, respiratory nursing and a range of clinical specialities. Professor Zena Moore and her team will be commencing the provision of these programmes in the academic year 2016-17.
