National Heritage Week launch

Over three days, RCSI will run nine tours of the College on St Stephen's Green as part of National Heritage Week 2016, this August. Three tours of the College will take place each day from 22-24 August, and are completely free of charge to the public.

Fitting in with this year's National Heritage Week theme, ‘People and Place' and on the year that marks the centenary of the College's occupation by insurgents under the command of Michael Mallin and Countess Markievicz during the 1916 the Easter Rising, guests can take a tour of the College and walk in the rooms occupied by the rebels which are virtually unchanged since 100 years ago.

Tours of RCSI will be guided by Bryan Sheils (Front of House Manger, RCSI), Frank Donegan (Head Porter, RCSI), Joseph Byrne (Deputy Head Porter, RCSI) and Meadhbh Murphy (Archivist, RCSI).

The tours will begin at 11am, 2pm and 6pm on each of the three days from 22-24 August and the meeting point is the entrance at 123 St Stephen's Green. All registered guests are asked to gather 15 minutes before the tours commence.

All events for National Heritage Week 2016 at RCSI are free of charge to the public but registration is essential due to limited capacity. Places are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
