The culmination of a month-long celebration of cultural diversity will take place tomorrow evening, Friday, 24 March with the 2017 RCSI International Night.

This event, one of the most highly anticipated in the College calendar, showcases the culture, traditions, music and dance from our students' home countries, of which there are more than 60 represented in the RCSI student body. 

For the first time ever, this annual cultural extravaganza will take place in Dublin's iconic Olympia Theatre on Dame Street.

Immerse yourself in a night of music and dance and show your support for our students by coming along on the night. 

Students from the vast array of societies, such as PIBS (Pakistan-India-Bangladesh-Sri Lanka), the Middle East society (MESA) who were last year's winners, CAS (Caribbean-African Society), CIMSA (Canadian-Irish Medical Students Association), PMCSA (Penang Medical College Students Association) and the Irish society, will perform dances and musical pieces inspired by their native countries in the hope of winning the much coveted Parnell Keeling trophy, which will be awarded to the best performance on the night as decided by a judging panel of staff and students.

Further music and entertainment will be provided by the Choral society and Music society who will perform to an audience of 500 people consisting of RCSI students, staff and friends.

Speaking on the event, Professor Hannah McGee, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, RCSI said, "I am proud that over the past three years, our students, along with the Students' Union and Student Services team, have really embraced March as Cultural Diversity Month and I hope it is a tradition we can continue for many years to come. There is no better way to sign off on our celebration of culture than International Night. I am really looking forward to what this year's show will have in store and as usual, the judging panel have the unenviable task of choosing the overall winner. I hope you will be able to come along and share this unique event with our multitalented students."
