RCSI REACH Community Christmas Lunch

RCSI hosted its annual Christmas lunch for senior citizens from the local community, a tradition that has been going for 30 years. The lunch is organised by the REACH RCSI programme, supported voluntarily by RCSI staff and sponsored by the College.

The festivities, held on Monday, 18 December, included a Christmas lunch and an afternoon of music and dancing, and plenty of song.

Speaking at the celebration, Maria Kelly, REACH RCSI Programme Manager said: “The annual lunch is something we all look forward to every year, particularly the people from our local community. For staff at RCSI, it truly marks the start of Christmas as music and song fills the College Hall. I would like to thank all the staff who supported the lunch and gave back to the local community.”

The REACH RCSI Programme is a unique community engagement and access programme at RCSI, promoting recreation, education and community health. The initiative is aimed at encouraging and facilitating third level participation and enhancing life chances for those traditionally underrepresented at third level, particularly those from Dublin's south inner city.
