Applications are now open for a scholarship in positive health from the RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health (CPPH), in collaboration with the 30% Club which seeks to promote gender balance across organisations and business.

The scholarship is open to female applicants and will cover the full tuition costs for one student in the Professional Diploma in Positive Health. It reflects RCSI's commitment to promoting greater gender diversity in healthcare. This is aligned with the 30% Club’s mission to foster greater representation of women at executive levels of business and large organisations.

The RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health was developed in 2019 in response to the increasing prevalence of diseases associated with lifestyle and the growing evidence of the role of the psychological factors in optimising health and wellbeing. It is the mission of the centre to enhance health and wellbeing of people all over the world through providing information and evidence-based resources.

Speaking about the new scholarship, RCSI CPPH Director Professor Ciaran O’Boyle said: "We at the RCSI Centre for Positive Psychology and Health are delighted to partner with the 30% Club in offering a female candidate a scholarship covering all tuition fees on our Professional Diploma in Positive Health. This is an exciting opportunity to study at the CPPH, which is the first centre of its kind globally to integrate the emerging scientific disciplines of positive psychology and lifestyle medicine. We look forward to welcoming the successful candidate into our next cohort of students."

Commencing September 2022, the Professional Diploma in Positive Health is valued at €5,750. Applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements and are advised to check requirements for the Professional Diploma in Positive Health as outlined here.

About the 30% Club

The 30% Club Ireland officially launched in January 2015, with a goal to achieve better gender balance at all levels in leading Irish businesses. The 30% Club believes that gender balance in executive leadership not only encourages better leadership and governance, but further contributes to better all-round performance, and ultimately increased corporate performance for both companies and their shareholders. The initiative is complementary to individual company efforts and existing networking groups, adding to these through collaboration and the visible commitment of senior business leaders.
