Why Health Professions Education?
RCSI provides healthcare professionals with a wide range of teaching, learning and educational research opportunities, from formal qualifications to in-house training sessions.
Our aim is to equip health professions educators with evidence-based teaching and learning strategies to help them to utilise contemporary learning theories within practical teaching contexts. We also aim to connect health professions educators with each other; nurturing a vibrant community of like-minded professionals.
The programme – designed by RCSI’s Health Professions Education Centre – is tailored to the needs for both experienced and early career educators, and aims to enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills required to provide high-quality educational experiences for learners in an academic and/or clinical environment.
It also provides an understanding of the landscape around health professions education and contemporary learning theories, as well as practical expertise in assessment and feedback methods, instructional design, educational evaluation and health professions education research.
