About

As science and healthcare develop at an increasingly rapid pace, there are emerging issues in society and healthcare that impact patients and their care.

With the micro-credential in Contemporary Issues in Healthcare from RCSI School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences you'll enhance your understanding of key emerging issues in healthcare and society at national and international levels. You'll examine key policy changes in Ireland and the EU, and consider how they have impacted citizens and the healthcare system.

The course will explore the relationship between group membership, social class and healthcare, and you'll be prompted to reflect upon the conflicts/challenges triggered by ever-increasing demands from citizens and international policymakers for sustainable healthcare. You'll apply these themes to your own context, considering how the above challenges provide possible opportunities for your career in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

This course is delivered through a combination of online learning and in-person attendance at RCSI's Dublin campus, and is a Level 9 award on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications.
