About
Increase your systematic understanding and critical awareness of key emerging therapeutic technologies on the PgCert in Technologies and Analytics in Precision Medicine from RCSI School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences.
As a biological data scientist, you will be involved in the cutting-edge field of precision medicine. This exciting new discipline involves optimising therapeutic benefits by personalising treatment for patients through genetic profiling and in parallel enhancing diagnosis across various disease types.
The health sector is facing into a new era as it looks to incorporate the areas of data science, omics, bioinformatics, computational biology, artificial intelligence and machine-learning to create a future of ‘connected healthcare’.
The programme has a core focus on precision medicine and data analytics and how to analyse healthcare data.
Study across key areas including precision medicine, genetics, data analytics, and connected health. With a core focus on precision medicine combined with connected health and analytics you'll be supported to gain the skills you need to begin/advance your career in this exciting new discipline.
The programme will be delivered in a blended learning environment and underpinned by a small group, problem-based and peer learning ethos. It will also incorporate active learning techniques with a mix of team-based and individual-focused projects and a significant practical focus with a view to ensuring workplace readiness. The Postgraduate Certificate in Technologies and Analytics in Precision Medicine is a 30 ECTS fully accredited two-year part-time programme.
This course is a Level 9 award on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications.
