Information Communications Technology (ICT)
All undergraduate medicine and nursing students will be provided with a brand new personal laptop device for academic use and will have free access to internet all over the campus, all of which is facilitated and managed by our dedicated ICT team.
The laptops remain university property for the duration of study and must be returned or reimbursed should students withdraw. Along with their personal device, students will also be provided with a Microsoft Office 365 account, which includes a 50GB email account, 1TB cloud storage and Microsoft Office applications. All formal communication from the university - including notices regarding lectures and schedules - will be made by email or through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and it is the responsibility of each student to practise and familiarise themselves with the platforms and access them regularly.
The ICT office is located on the first floor of the main building and should be the first port of call for issues relating to hardware or software systems through helpdesk@rcsi-mub.com or by calling +973 16660060
Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
Moodle, the VLE employed by the university, is a valuable resource for all registered students and facilitates access to a wide range of information, including learning outcomes; lecture notes; class timetables; multimedia tutorials; discussion boards; examination results; self-assessment tests and calendars. The portal sits across RCSI campuses in Dublin and Bahrain, allowing students, faculty and alumni shared access to resources.
