Beacon Centre for Orthopaedics is situated in a new and modern unit and is home to specialist orthopaedic consultants along with Ireland’s most comprehensive Sports Lab and team of physiotherapists. The Beacon Hospital Academy, launched in February 2015, boasts the most comprehensive private training programmes in Ireland underpinned by excellence in scholarship and innovation in all aspects of healthcare provision and transformative management and leadership. The Academy provides clinical education and support to many accredited academic programmes, from undergraduate degrees to postgraduate certificates, diplomas and masters. Research active hospitals help advance clinicians and improve patient care, the Beacon Hospital Research Institute (BHRI) was established in 2019 under the auspices of Beacon Hospital. It carries out research and clinical trials in a number of areas including oncology and radiotherapy, cardiology, orthopaedics, GIM, surgery and allied therapies. Through novel, high-quality, multi-disciplinary research Beacon aims to deliver evidence-based medicine and ongoing improvements in treatment and care options to its patients. Its goal over the next several years is to establish Beacon Hospital as a 'research-led' hospital which delivers research that positively impacts patients and their journey with it.
