Three Conferring ceremonies will take place on Monday, 25 November 2024 in the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD). Please find below the breakdown for eachceremony.

Academic dress hire 

All graduates must pre-book robes with the official robe-makers, Phelan Conan Limited. Robes may be pre-booked online at www.phelanconan.com. The pre-paid hire fee is €45 or pay on the day hire fee is €50.

Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process online, Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. If you experience any further problems with 3D secure process, please contact your bank.  

Robes can be collected from outside the Desmond Auditorium, RCSI 26 York Street, Dublin 2 on Monday, 18 November between 4pm and 7pm. If you are unable to pre-collect your robe, you may collect your robe on your arrival at the Convention Centre Dublin on Monday, 25 November at the times outlined below. 

Please note the following: 

Robe collection will take place in the Forum, Ground Floor, CCD for each ceremony at the times indicated below:

Ceremony III – Robes can be collected from 08.00 Ceremony IV – Robes can be collected from 11.30

Ceremony V – Robes can be collected from 15.00

  • Due to several ceremonies taking place on this date, robes cannot be collected in advance of your allocated time on the day.
  • Cash will not be accepted on the day.
  • All gowns must be returned to Phelan Conan as soon as possible after the conclusion of the ceremony.  

Photography 

Lafayette Photographers will be located on site throughout the Conferrings to take professional individual and family portraits. Please visit their website www.lafayette.ie to pre-book now. Pre-booking is highly recommended for your photography session.  

Registration 

 

Graduands are invited to register two hours prior to their conferring ceremony. Please note if you pre-collect your robe on Monday, 18 November, arriving two hours prior to the conferring will be sufficient for registration. 

At registration, graduands will be provided with their parchment and scroll holder along with their conferring booklet and seat number allocation. The assigned seat number signifies the order in which you will be called to the stage.

It is important that all candidates register and collect their booklet and parchment when they arrive at the Convention Centre. 

Graduands and guests are asked to take their seats no later than 45 minutes prior to the ceremony commencing. 

Guest tickets 

Each attending graduand will automatically receive two complimentary guest tickets.

A graduand does not require a ticket. 

Graduands who wish to obtain additional guest tickets will have the opportunity to purchase additional guest tickets online while registering for the ceremony. This will be on a first come first served basis. 

Each additional ticket will cost €25, and a maximum of two additional tickets per graduand will be available, while stocks last. 

Live stream  

A live stream of the conferring ceremony will be available for friends and family to watch around the world. The stream will be available via the RCSI Dublin homepage.

Important Notice 

All students due to graduate should be aware that the conferring ceremony is regarded as a public occasion. The ceremonies are recorded and broadcast on the internet (via the RCSI website) but they may also appear on other websites on the internet. Graduands and guests seated in the conferring auditorium should be aware that they may appear on this live stream and recording. By participating in graduation, graduands and guests are deemed to have consented to be party to these practices. Graduands who do not consent to these practices should not attend and opt instead to be conferred in absentia. Guests who do not consent to these practices should also not attend and may opt to watch the ceremony via live stream.

RCSI’s official photographers and staff will be situated around the conferring venue taking photographs and video footage of the celebrations, which may be featured in future publications on social media channels and the RCSI website. Graduands and guests who do not wish their image to be used for such a purpose should inform the photographer, or staff member on the day.
