Students were conferred with Membership (MRCSI) of RCSI at the Penang Medical College on Thursday, 23 August 2007.

This is the ninth consecutive year that a postgraduate conferring ceremony has been held in Penang. This year, the highest numbers ever sat the Viva and clinical exams. 

Commenting at the event, RCSI President Professor Gerald O'Sullivan, said: "Our noble purpose reflects our determination to sustain independent governance in professional education irrespective of changes in the economic or political climate. We feel certain that this will provide the best guarantee of professional standards, whatever the practice environment. We are always struck by the wonderful assistance and support we receive from the College here, the surgical community and the staff and patients of Penang General Hospital."
