The 94th American College of Surgeons Annual Clinical Congress (ACS) was held in San Francisco from 12-15 October.

The theme of the Congress was 'Leading the Way to Quality, Safety, and Excellence'.

A Convocation Ceremony was held on Sunday, 12 October, where Professor Gerald O’Sullivan (past President of RCSI) was conferred with an Honorary Fellowship from the American College of Surgeons.

An NUIC graduate, Professor O’Sullivan is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) Glasgow. He was President of the RCSI from 2006-2008 and is currently President-Elect of the European Surgical Association.
