RCSI and RCPI Biological Society welcomes Kevin Heffernan at 75th meeting

Biological Society welcomes Kevin Heffernan

Former player and manager of the Dublin GAA team, Kevin Heffernan, was welcomed at the 75th Biological Society meeting at RCSI.

The proceedings were opened by the President of the Society Professor Noel G. McElvaney, followed by the presentation of medals. Among the recipients were Dr Emmet Thompson, who received the RCSI Council Medal; Timothy Delaney, who received the RCPI Council Medal; and Sinead Maguire, who received the Leonard Abrahamson Medal.

Guest speakers of the evening included Kevin Heffernan who delivered a speech on 'The Sky Blues - A History of Dublin GAA’ and Amber Waits, Ciara Shouldice and Mary O’Flanagan with a speech entitled 'Student Fund Raising for the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation'.

Among those who attended the event were Professor Noel G. McElvaney, President of the Biological Society; Professor P. D. J. Holland, Permanent Vice-President; Sinead Maguire, IT Secretary; Dr Mark Willcox, Honorary Correspondence Secretary; Jehan Ghany, Honorary Records Secretary; Lee Polikoff, Honorary Treasurer; Advertising Secretaries Nithya Nahappan and Lara Alaud-Din; Social Secretaries Linda Pennycooke and Eimear Kitt; and Sinéad Maguire, IT Secretary.
