Green Labs programme

RCSI has an active Green Labs programme with the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences and the Department of Physiology and Medical Physics (to platinum level) certified in December 2022.

Our Department of Chemistry, Department of Anatomy and Regenerative Medicine and our Education and our Research Centre in Beaumont Hospital were also certified in 2022, with our Department of Surgery following in 2024. RCSI is on target to have all labs accredited by My Green Labs by the end of 2024.

Green Labs was established to provide scientists and the teams that support laboratories with actionable ways to make meaningful change under 14 topics. It assesses laboratories processes and procedures around issues such as: recycling and waste, resource management, purchasing, green chemistry and biologics, water, cold storage, and field work. engagement.
