PROGRESS Women in Surgery Fellowship recipient reports

Ireland’s first Fellowship for women surgeons was launched by RCSI in 2019. Aimed at promoting female participation in surgical training in Ireland, the prestigious Fellowship gives women surgeons the opportunity to gain exceptional experience and exposure to their chosen field, supporting their progression to consultant.

Ms Ailín Rogers FRCSI received the inaugural Fellowship, funded by Johnson & Johnson MedTech. In 2020, Ms Rogers traveled to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London to undertake a fellowship in robotic colorectal surgery and multivisceral resection for advanced pelvic malignancy.
