RCSI Bahrain delegates meet with AdvanceHE representatives

  • General news

RCSI Bahrain President, Professor Sameer Otoom, and Head of Quality Enhancement, Dr Kathryn Strachan met with senior representatives of AdvanceHE, to discuss future collaboration around faculty development in relation to the AdvanceHE Certificate in Learning and Teaching (CLTHE) and Fellowship of AdvanceHE.

The meeting was attended by AdvanceHE International Partnership Manager, Kristian Rumble and Assistant Director of Knowledge, Innovation and Delivery, Cathy Wright.

Over the next four years there will be three distant areas of collaboration; international membership of AdvanceHE offering member benefits to RCSI Bahrain and staff, in particular to support the development of best practice in learning and teaching; partnership with AdvanceHE to develop staff trainers through a Train the Trainer model, for the delivery of AdvanceHE CLTHE. This cascade model will see RCSI Bahrain being accredited by AdvanceHE to deliver and award the CLTHE and finally to support experienced teachers to apply for Fellowship through dedicated Fellowship writing workshops.

This development demonstrates RCSI Bahrain’s support for the priorities of National Strategy for Higher Education 2014-2024; to raise academic quality, prioritise teaching & learning to improve quality in higher education and to align academic standards with global benchmarks.
