Young Author Shares Inspiring Experience with Students

RCSI Medical University of Bahrain recently had the privilege of hosting 13-year-old author Ms Sarah Sabt on campus to share her extraordinary journey with University students.
The 'Meet the Author' event provided an opportunity for Ms Sarah Sabt, debut author of “Death in the Snow”, to engage with her audience on the process of writing and publishing her first novel. The event was attended by distinguished faculty members, including Professor Alfred Nicholson, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Head of the School of Medicine; Professor Kathryn Strachan, Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery; as well as academics from the Language and Culture Unit, staff members and nursing students.
The audience was captivated by Ms Sabt’s unwavering passion for storytelling, determination, and strong ethos, which were instrumental in her success as a young author. Her advice on navigating the challenges of the publishing world was both illuminating and motivational, leaving a lasting impression on attendees. The event concluded with Ms Sabt graciously gifting signed copies of her book to selected students and staff.
Professor Nicholson commented: “As a University, we strive to provide unique opportunities for our students to develop personally, professionally and academically through curricular and co-curricular activities. Ms Sabt's journey highlights the importance of perseverance and strong ethos, which are principles we aim to instil in our students. She is an inspiring young author, and we wish her continued success in her future endeavours.”
The ‘Meet the Author’ event was organised by Dr Amal Al Qallaf, Head of the Language and Culture Unit (LCU), to showcase Ms Sabt's passion for storytelling at a young age and to inspire students to nurture their own creativity and perseverance.
