Patient and public involvement

The centre is keen to promote meaningful and impactful patient and public involvement (PPI) in all research projects, particularly RCSI-led research.

We are supported by the RCSI Office of Research an Innovation (ORI). RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences is one of the seven lead universities involved in the national PPI Ignite Network. A multidisciplinary RSCI PPI in research committee has been set up inclusive of patient contributors and academics experienced in PPI.

We hope to explore the possibilities of greater public and patient involvement in all aspects of the research process within RCSI in the future to develop high-quality research which resonates with the public and patients ‘real-world’ experiences of healthcare and disease management. You can learn more about PPI on the Irish Platform for Patient Organisations, Science & Industry website.
