RCSI Mentor Network
The RCSI Mentor Network is a unique programme which aims to connect our senior clinical students with Alumni, working across various fields of career interest.
This invaluable link assists our students in making informed career decisions as they move from undergraduate education to postgraduate training opportunities in healthcare settings throughout the world.
How do I become an RCSI mentor?
RCSI Alumni who graduated from the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy or Physiotherapy are particularly well-placed to assist our students with their transition plans. Engagement with alumni is instrumental in broadening the student mind-set from a campus context to a 'real-world' perspective.
Where are RCSI mentors based?
Our mentors are located in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. This global network of alumni is active and generous in sharing their wealth of knowledge. Most common interactions include queries about specialist career pathways along with general information on country-specific licence and registration processes.
Why should I give up my time to become a mentor?
The global alumni community contains an invaluable and rich resource of professional expertise and life experience. We know your time is precious, but we also know that your advice and support to our aspiring medical students is unrivalled in its insight and impact. As graduates of RCSI, you are able to provide a unique perspective and level of support, so if you can spare a few hours a month to help develop and advise the next generation of medical graduates, we’d love for you to get in touch.
