Entry Requirements

Applicants will be selected for admission to the undergraduate nursing programme on the basis of open competition using the following criteria:

  • Basic eligibility, i.e. achievement of minimum academic and English language entry requirements.
  • References and life experience, i.e. work / life balance, extracurricular activities, relevant work or voluntary experience, etc.
  • Performance at a structured interview.

  • All applicants must have completed a minimum of 12 years of schooling by the end of secondary school education.

The following requirements are the minimum standards for consideration for entry into the undergraduate nursing programme for the Academic Year 2025/2026. Please note that attainment of these grades does not guarantee acceptance to the programme, and admission to any stage is at the discretion of the RCSI Bahrain Admissions Committee.

  • Required Subjects: Science or Commercial stream.
  • Minimum Grade: Cumulative Grade Point Average (cGPA) of 80%.
  • English language requirements: Applicants are required to complete an English language examination (Aptis)

  • Required Subjects: Minimum of two A-levels or four AS-Levels. All applicants must also have completed a minimum of 6 subjects at GCSE level.
  • Minimum Grade: Minimum A-Levels of C, C or Minimum AS-Levels of C, C, C, C.
  • English language requirements: Applicants are required to complete an English language examination (Aptis).

  • Required Subjects: Science or Commerce Stream.
  • Minimum Grade: Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (cGPA) of 80% (calculated over grades 10, 11and 12).
  • English language requirements: Applicants are required to complete an English language examination (Aptis).

  • Required Subjects: Science stream at standard grade 12 (XII) Applicants must have studied Mathematics to at least standard grade 10 (X).
  • Minimum Grade: Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 70% at standard grade 12 (XII).
  • English language requirements: Applicants are required to complete an English language examination (Aptis).

  • Required Subjects: Applicants must complete and pass the core subjects (English, Mathematics and a science subject) within the six required subjects in the Higher Level (HL) or Standard level (SL).
  • Minimum Grade: Grade of 24 points with no subject grade less than 3.
  • English language requirements: Applicants are required to complete an English language examination (Aptis).

Following interview, all applicants are required to complete an English language examination (Aptis) with no exemptions. Applicants are required to achieve B1 level or above with no single component less than A2 in the Aptis test.
