Faculty of Dentistry
The Faculty of Dentistry was founded in 1963 with the core mission of advancing the science, art and practice of dentistry by the promotion of education, study and research.
The Faculty provides education, accreditation of programmes and quality assurance through examination of postgraduate dental professionals in Ireland, the UK and internationally.
With over 2,500 affiliates globally – having passed examinations at three different levels along a postgraduate continuum; diplomates, members and fellows – the Faculty's international role is expansive and encompasses, in particular, the Middle East and Gulf Region, North America, Sudan and Sweden.
The Faculty offers both general dental examinations (Diploma, MFD, MGDS) and specialist fellowship examinations (FFD, FGDS). It also provides lecture-based and hands-on courses for dentists wishing to update their knowledge and actively pursue additional postgraduate qualifications.
