Population Health and Health Sciences

RCSI's focus on Population Health and Health Sciences involves researchers with a diverse range of backgrounds and specialities analysing issues affecting human health and health services from different perspectives. It brings together clinicians, pharmacists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, biologists and public health professionals with a common objective of understanding, safeguarding and improving the health of human populations and individuals.

The goal of the Population Health and Health Sciences research team at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences is to contribute to healthcare improvements and policy change both nationally and internationally.

Our key areas of research include epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics with a focus on substance use disorders, medication safety, deprescribing, polypharmacy and multimorbidity, improving paediatric medicines use, and e-health interventions.
