Borrowing and renewing
Borrowing services are available to RCSI students and staff.
The Library’s comprehensive online collections are complemented by print collections. Students and staff have access to wider range of key textbooks (print and online), journals (print and online) and databases to support learning, teaching and research.
- You can only borrow with the presentation of a valid ID card.
- You are responsible for all items borrowed in your name until they have been returned to the Library and the loan record has been cancelled. If you lose a book, or if it is damaged, you will be charged for its replacement.
- Reference only materials are for consultation in the Library.
- The majority of the collection is available to borrow, with high demand items available as overnight or weekly loans.
- Loans will automatically renew up to 12 weeks provided no other Library users have requested the item.
- Items in high demand may be recalled from you. If an item is recalled the due date may be adjusted. Please note that recall overdue fees are applied.
- Books can be returned to the self-service stations or to the Information Point RCSI Library, York Street; or to the Book Return Box or Information Desk RCSI Library, Beaumont Hospital.
- Books may be returned to either RCSI Library at York Street or Beaumont Hospital.
- You may not borrow if fines of €15 or over are outstanding on your Library account.
