Students from other institutions
Students from other institutions wishing to visit the RCSI Library should send a letter of introduction from their institutional library to library@rcsi.com. All visits are arranged in advance and the visiting student will be required to show a valid ID card from their home institution when they arrive onsite.
ALCID card holders
RCSI Library is a member of the ALCID Access Scheme between academic libraries. Users looking to access the Library under this scheme should email library@rcsi.com in advance of their visit.
ALCID Card users will be required to show a valid ID card from their home institution when they arrive onsite, along with a valid ALCID Card.
ALCID users are welcome onsite during Information Point opening hours.
SCONUL users
RCSI Library is a member of the SCONUL Access Scheme (Band A) between academic libraries.
Users looking to access the Library under this scheme should email library@rcsi.com in advance of their visit.
SCONUL Card users will be required to show a valid ID card from their home institution when they arrive on site along with their approved SCONUL Access Letter which is provided by their home institution.
SCONUL users are welcome onsite during Information Point opening hours.
Visiting researchers to RCSI Heritage Collections
Access to the Heritage Collections is by appointment only. Please contact archivist@rcsi.com to make arrangements for your visit.
Print/scan/copy accounts
Visiting users to RCSI Library's sites can set up a personal print account from the RCSI print portal, select ‘Register as a new user’. Within this portal, visitors can add credit to their account and upload any documents they wish to print via web print. These documents can be released at the printers in the Library Learning Commons on the Ground Floor of RCSI Library, 26 York Street or in the Print Room in RCSI Library, Beaumont Hospital.
Access to WiFi
Visiting users to RCSI Library's sites can access Guest WiFi for their personal devices. The log in details change regularly so visitors should check locally when they arrive. RCSI also supports Eduroam.
