Fulbright Scholar at RCSI Bahrain meets with HEC Secretary General
The Fulbright Scholar, Ms Maria Morcos, hosted at RCSI Bahrain met recently with Her Excellency Dr Shaikha Rana Bint Isa Bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council and Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Education Council Board of Trustees, in the presence of Ms Linda McMullen, Public Affairs Officer and Ms Samar Hasan, Educational Specialist from the US Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Professor Ghufran Jassim, Associate Professor and Head of Department of Family Medicine and Professor Stephen Atkin, Head of School of Postgraduate Studies and Research at RCSI Bahrain.
During the meeting, Ms Morcos discussed with Her Excellency the advantages of Bahrain as a global destination for higher education, and RCSI Bahrain as a partner extending attractive opportunities for her research projects. Drawing on personal experience to advance her academic and professional endeavours by conducting research and providing some English language support, Ms Morcos has enjoyed discovering the Middle Eastern culture and communities of Bahrain, Egypt, Dubai and soon Jordan. Ms Morcos believes such exchange and exposure provide a more holistic educational experience of great benefit to her and future recipients.
Her Excellency Dr Shaikha Rana Bint Isa Bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council and Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Education Council Board of Trustees, welcomed the delegation and reiterated her appreciation of RCSI Bahrain’s contribution toward the Higher Education Council’s national strategy of attracting international students to Bahrain.
Ms Morcos expressed gratitude to Her Excellency, the US Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain and RCSI Bahrain for all their support.
